Sports n Shorts!

We've spent some time outdoors this year.

At the park for an evening concert.
At the community centre's Summer festival and the Soccer coaches.

At weekly swim lessons and finally at Ice Skating lessons.

Thanksgiving

OK, so I'm posting the Thanksgiving pics American style... in November rather than October. Dates aside, the turkey turned out well... for a 'Utility Turkey'. It was a spur of the moment decision to roast my first turkey dinner and in my haste, I didn't notice that it was missing it's drumsticks! Hmm, I think next year I'll try roasting duck instead.

Aside from food, this season is about enjoying and being thankful for family. Here are some of our favorite shots.

Halloween 2008

It all began the week before All Hallows Eve with a trip to the pumpkin patch.

We saw the Singing Pig, momma pig with her little suckling piglets and lots of other animals.

Kiora ( City Girl ) walked around pinching her nose to stifle the rosey aroma of country air :)

Tom was a little rowdy!

The fall bounty of pumpkins, apples etc were the perfect foil for gorgeous pictures of the girls.

The pumpkins were staged in preparation for Halloween. Here is Super Girl 'n company from daycare.

Porpoise Bay: Camping

More Pictures to follow

Circus!

Kiora's first outing to the Circus to see Corteo was such a blast. She got dressed up; new shoes, a necklace and girly clothes... doesn't she look georgous?
Under the big top, we sat right next to stage right, in front of the mini orchestra. The soprano often graced us with her singing next to us as did the playing of the harmonium and double bass.
Kiora liked the 'Golf Ball' skit the best (same as Daddy btw).

Kiora's 4th Birthday - Lil Miss Independence

Lil Miss Independence had a Star themed Gymnastics Party for her 4th Birthday.

At School we had another cake... this time a Rainbow fruit cake. Kiora got a storey book for a present.

Then at home with the family, Kiora had a Dora cake & lots of prezzies.
We had a fine day on the 5th at the community summer festival. They featured Rhythmic Gymnastics champions, Kung Fu black belts & Olympic Mascots; Sumi, Quatchi & Miga

Of Frogs 'n Snails & Puppy Dog Tails

There was an open house today at Preschool.
The children sang the Alphabet song, 5 Little Monkeys & Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
We had a lovely Potluck lunch.
Sadly, this was Kiora's last day here. Next week we're off to a new adventure with 24 new friends.
This afternoon, we went to a BBQ at Sami & Jake's. There we met 'New' Mike (Claire's beau), Kiora rode her first Scooter & unfortunately someone (miss D) broke a ceramic Snail in the yard. We did have fabulous Ribs, Chicken, Penne, Corn, Potatoes & Salad. Followed by freshly picked Strawberries, Ice Wine & a Mango Mousse cake.

Kiora's Prince Jake rescued her when she fell. Bishop Sami presided over their 'production' of Frogs 'n Snails & Puppy Dog Tails

Spice Girls Reunion 2008

Our Spice Girls Reunion this year started out at the Kerridale Arena's Play Centre.

For Father's Day the next day, we had Dim Sum with the dads in our family.
Then we spent some time watering plants at Grandma Grace's house.
Then we went shopping at the mall. Kiora got new socks, an outfit and swimming gear.
Then we went through the carwash while Kiora napped.
Off to the park with our sparkling car. That's where Kiora fell off the swings and did a face-plant. She cut a lip a little, got a few scratches on her nose, but all-in-all is in fine form.

... Kiora also did a hula dance today which we captured on camera. Enjoy
