Christmas

Christmas Eve and all is quiet. We wait for Santa to arrive.
The stage is set; cookies (ok, Biscotti) and milk set out & stockings hung.
We've left the Christmas tree lit for Santa to see better.
Santa must have loved the treats. When we woke up Christmas morning, there was a bounty under our tree! Santa brought Kiora her Electric Guitar.

Fall and Winter Buzz

Dec. 6th, 2007
Bright Nights in Stanley Park is an annual Christmas lights display by the Stanley Park Miniature Train ride. It's also a Fire-Fighter's Burn Fund fundraiser. Here's Kiora with Santa & her Fire-Fighter's hat

The train ride was magical. Mommy especially enjoyed the ride over the pond with all the lights doubly reflected in the water. Dad's favorite was meeting the Grinch Who Stole Christmas! Kiora enjoyed the Carols, and sang "Jingle Bells" all the way:)

Dec. 2nd, 2007
Our first snowfall of the season:)
What fun!
We shovelled snow early on Sunday morning then rolled all that lovely snow to the backyard where we dressed our snowman. He's typically asian; with an Okra nose & Baby Bak Choy eyes. Hee Hee!

Nov. 25th, 2007
It was a most exciting day for the 2007 Santa Claus Parade. We started out with Kiora's first ride on Skytrain to the downtown core. We had lunch at Hon's Wonton House; then parked ourselves on the curb on the parade route near the Global Media Center on Georgia Street. There were candies galore (which Kiora inhaled) and marching bands a plenty. It culminated with Santa afloat the largest sleigh we've ever seen!

Nov. 4, 2007
Another year at Burnaby Heritage Museum for the AFABC Family Fun Day. Once again Kiora did not want to get on the Carousel. Daddy & Kiora did enjoy the eats though. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Juice & Chips.
Of course, the icing on the cake was Face Painting! Kiora got a pink Butterfly.

All in all we splurged on popcorn, Green Happy Planet smoothie, hotdogs & hamburgers.

Going Bananas!

Next August update... Aug 7th
We attended Madelyn's 3rd Birthday at Going Bananas. As soon as the kids got into the maze, it was a blurr.
Kiora was a little wary of the play structure, but soon warmed up when Celeste and Tyler joined in sliding down the tubes with her.

There was of course the requisite cake and prezzies.
Here is Madelyn pushing big sis outta the way so that she can blow out her candles all by herself. She loves Nemo... hence Nemo and Dory on her B'Day cake.

getting up to speed...

August was another busy month. We had some Llama drama on the 5th.

Kiora, Emma & Amy met at the Richmond Nature Park to celebrate Blueberries & to take a Llama for a walk. Well, the kids wanted to ride them actually, but we convinced them that the Llamas would prefer a lesser load.
Aunty Claire & Uncle Jason treated the trio to their walk in the park. Some confusion arose since we were expecting 3 Llamas but got one goat instead of one of the Llamas.
Emma picked out the Brown Llama, Amy got the Black Llama and Kiora got the goat. Oh wait a minute, Kiora decided to share Amy's Llama and let mummy walk the goat! Since I'm doing the blog, no one is going to get a rear view of me walking anything:)

There was also time to view the exhibits of frogs, snakes and bugs in the big hall, and the kids all got Blueberry tattoes.

They had great fun that afternoon and gave hugs all round to wish one another goodbye... and good napping.

Going Bananas!

Today Kiora's friends joined her at Killarney Community Centre for her 3rd B'Day Going Bananas party. Auntie Angela is painting up Kiora with a 'Monkey' face.

Madelyn wanted a 'Blue Bird'

Here's Mikeala (Rainbow on her face) and the Monkey bouncing and posing.

Jake and Sandra in the gym.
We had a giant bouncy castle in the gymnasium, lots of cars, tricycles, balls, hula hoops and hockey gear.

After tearing around the gym for an hour, we had hotdogs, chicken chow mein, beef and broccoli, wontons & drinks.

It was rounded off by a huge birthday cake.
